Serving Dallas County Since 1952 — The History of Buckner Blvd Plumbing
What started in a single-car garage has grown into a plumbing company that has worked on homes and buildings across Dallas County for over 70 years.
From older houses with original pipe systems to newer construction across the metro, we’ve seen how plumbing in this area has changed — and we’ve worked through every stage of it.
Where It Started — A Small Garage in Pleasant Grove
Buckner Blvd Plumbing Co Inc was founded in May 1952 by R.C. Ottwell, Sr. and B.J. Smith.
In the beginning, the company operated out of a single-car garage at 939 S. Buckner Blvd in Pleasant Grove. It was a small setup, focused on getting the work done right and building a reputation one job at a time.
That same approach still carries through today. While the company has grown, the work is still centered in the same region — serving homeowners and businesses across Dallas County where it all started.
Growing With Dallas County in the 1950s and 1960s
As Dallas County continued to grow through the 1950s and 1960s, so did the demand for reliable plumbing work.
Buckner Blvd Plumbing moved through several locations during this time, including Murdock Road, 2800 Buckner Blvd, and later 8215 Maddox. Each move reflected steady growth and a larger volume of work across the area.
As new homes were built and neighborhoods expanded, the need for dependable plumbing followed. The company became part of that growth — handling installations, repairs, and construction work as the region developed.
A Permanent Home in Mesquite Since 1968
In 1968, Buckner Blvd Plumbing Co Inc relocated to its current location at 4030 Gus Thomasson Road in Mesquite.
Since then, the company has continued to operate from the same address — serving Dallas County from a consistent base for decades.
That kind of stability matters. A company that stays rooted in one location reflects long-term commitment, not short-term operation. Customers know where to find us, and we’ve remained part of the same communities we’ve been serving since the beginning.
From a Garage to a Full-Service Plumbing Operation
Today, Buckner Blvd Plumbing Co Inc operates out of a 15,000 square foot facility in Mesquite.
From this location, the team serves a wide range of clients — including homeowners, builders, and commercial properties across Dallas County and surrounding areas.
While the tools and equipment have changed over the years, the approach has remained consistent. Modern plumbing systems, updated materials, and newer construction methods are handled alongside older systems that have been in place for decades.
It’s a combination of current capabilities and long-term experience that allows the work to be done properly, regardless of the type of property or plumbing system involved.
70+ Years of Real Plumbing Experience in Dallas County
Over the years, Buckner Blvd Plumbing Co Inc has worked on every type of plumbing system found across Dallas County.
That includes older homes with cast iron sewer lines and galvanized supply pipes, as well as newer construction with modern materials and updated systems.
Experience here is not limited to one type of job. It comes from working through different generations of plumbing — understanding how materials age, how systems fail, and how to fix them correctly.
It also includes a working knowledge of local conditions. Dallas County clay soil, shifting foundations, and hard water all affect how plumbing systems perform over time.
That kind of experience carries into every service call, whether the issue is simple or more involved.
What Our Experience Means for Your Plumbing Problem
Over the years, Buckner Blvd Plumbing Co Inc has worked on every type of plumbing system found across Dallas County.
Experience is not just about how long a company has been around. It shows in how problems are handled.
With decades of hands-on work across different types of plumbing systems, issues can be identified faster and addressed correctly the first time.
That means fewer mistakes, fewer return visits, and solutions that actually fix the problem — not temporary patches.
Whether it’s an older system with aging materials or a newer setup with a specific failure, the goal is the same: understand what’s happening and handle it the right way.
